Two minor twin sisters drowned in a pond of Mohammadpur village in Laksam upazila of Comilla district on Saturday morning.
The deceased were Mariam (4) and Fatema (4), the daughters of Liton Mia, hailing from the same village in Gobindapur union, reports UNB.
Quoting family members, Gobindapur union parisahd chairman Nizam Uddin Ahmed said, the twins drowned in the pond while they were playing nearby their house.
Locals found Mariam and Fatema floating in the pond and recovered their bodies around 11:15 am, he added.
