This year's minimum Fitra fixed at Tk 70, maximum Tk 2,310

Fitra, a charity donation by well-off Muslims at the end of Ramadan, has been fixed at minimum Tk 70 per person this year.

The Islamic Foundation decided on the donation rates at a meeting on Wednesday, said Baitul Mukarram spokesperson Muhammad Nizamuddin.

The maximum rate of Fitra has been set at Tk 2,310 per person this year taking into account the market prices of ata, dates, and other essential items, he said.

Last year, the minimum Fitra rate was Tk 65 and maximum at Tk1,980 per person, according to a bdnews24 report.

Fitra can be given in cash or kind.
