The Prime Minister’s Office termed the reports over a foiled plot to assassinate Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as baseless, misleading and intentional.
The PMO statement, issued on Sunday, referred to some Bangladeshi TV stations, which had carried the news quoting a foreign TV channel and an international online outlet as well as discussed it in their talk shows, reports bdnews24.com.
"The media is being requested to refrain from propagating such baseless and misleading reports," it reads.
Meanwhile, after a meeting of the cabinet committee on law and order at the secretariat on Sunday, Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu said they have not found any authenticity of the report, reports UNB.
