Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast light rain/drizzle in Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions.

“Light rain/drizzle is likely to occur at one or two places over Khulna, Barishal and Dhaka divisions on Saturday and it may continue until Monday,” the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said in a weather bulletin on Saturday.

The weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country, the BMD said in the bulletin adding that light to moderate fog may occur over the country from midnight to morning.

Tetulia reported the lowest 8.3 degree Celsius on Saturday morning, according to the weather bulletin.

Though Tetulia temperature has been recorded below 9 degree Celsius, there is no possibility for a cold wave to happen soon broadly in the country, according to a meteorologist.

“There is no possibility of a cold wave right now or within the next two or three days,” Abdul Hamid, a BMD meteorologist, said.

“Only one or two stations like Tetulia are likely to witness a cold wave in the next two to three days,” according to him.

The BMD, also known as the Met Office, mentioned in the bulletin that trough of westerly low lies over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and adjoining areas. The ridge of Sub-continental high extends up to Bihar and adjoining areas. Seasonal low lies over South Bay.

The Met Office predicts that night temperature may rise by (1-2)°C and day temperature may fall slightly over the country.
