Police recover hanging body of BCL leader

Police recovered the hanging body of a Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader from his house near Satpai Eye Hospital in Netrokona city on Wednesday evening.

The deceased was identified as Adnan Khan, felicitation affairs secretary of district unit of BCL and son of Badruzzaman Manik, former chairman of Nayekpur Union of Madan upazila.

Locals and police sources said on Wednesday evening around 6 pm, Adnan went to his bedroom and closed the door.

After about 15 minutes, when family members tried to enter and found no response from the inside of room, breaking their way in they found Adnan hanging from the ceiling fan.

On information, police rushed in and sent the body to the Modern Sadar Hospital where the doctor declared him dead.

Netrokona Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Borhan Uddin confirmed the matter and said police are now investigating the incident of suicide, reports UNB.

The body was handed over without autopsy on the application of relatives, the OC added.

A case of unnatural death was filed with the police station.
