Police arrested two men on charges of counterfeiting currency notes with a face value of Tk 1.2 million from the capital on Tuesday night.
The Counter Terrorism and International Crime unit of Dhaka Metropolitan police (DMP) arrested Jibon Ahmed Palash, 32, and Md Arif Sheikh, 22, in a special drive from the city’s Mirpur area.
Acting on a tip off, a team of the law enforcement agency conducted the drive at Paikpara in Mirpur and arrested the perpetrators.
A case has been filed with the Mirpur Police Station in this regard.
