An unidentified old man was crushed under the wheels of a running train in the capital’s Uttara Azampur area on Sunday.
Ali Akbar, sub-inspector of Government Railway Police (GRP) of Kamalapur, confirmed the matter.
He said that the fatal incident occurred at around 7:00am on the day when a Kamalapur-bound train from Chattogram hit him in Uttara Azampur area. He died on the spot.
The GRP police official further said that the deceased was around 65. The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy after completing all legal formalities.
Police were trying to determine the identity of the deceased.
