The nation has observed a one-minute 'blackout' programme on Monday night, marking the 'Genocide Day'.

The 'blackout' programme was observed from 9:00pm on Monday for the third successive year, reports UNB.

Lights were switched off for one minute. However, establishments of emergency services remained out of the purview of the programme.

In 2017, the government officially declared March 25 as the 'Genocide Day', marking the widespread killings by Pakistani Army on the unarmed Bangalees on the black night of March 25, 1971.
