Miscreants snatch drug pedlar from police custody leaving two cops injured

A drug peddler was snatched from police custody by his cohorts at Jalanda village in Boraigram upazila in Natore on Saturday.

Officer-in-charge of Boraigram Police Station Dilip Kumar Das said as part of the anti-drug drive police arrested Zahidul Islam Zahid, an accused in a drug case, from Jalanda village at noon.

After Zahid's arrest, some of his associates attacked policemen and snatched him from their custody, leaving two assistant sub inspectors - Shiblu and Motiur injured.

On information, more policemen rushed to the spot and rescued the injured colleagues. They later arrested 12 people in this connection, reports UNB.
