Khaleda, Sushma talk election issues

BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia at a meeting with visiting Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has talked about the 'problems' being faced by her party centring over the next parliamentary election.

Secretary General of BNP Mirza Fakhrul Islam briefed the journalists after the meeting at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel Sunday evening.

After hearing Khaleda’s statement, Fakhrul said, the Indian leader hoped that all the political parties of the country would participate in the election scheduled at the fag end of 2018.

He said, “The BNP chief has discussed the present state of the country’s political affairs. She has also discussed the next general election and the problems surrounding the election."

The two leaders talked for about 45 minutes starting from 8:00pm, said Fakhrul to the journalists waiting outside the hotel.

“The top Indian diplomat gave a patient hearing to the problems,” he added.
