A general diary (GD) was filed on Monday against Md Fauzal Azim, a Bangladeshi migrant living in London, by a Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader for making ‘derogatory comments’ on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on social media.
Asif Talukder, literature secretary of BCL and also the cultural affairs secretary of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (Ducsu) filed the GD with Shahbagh police station, reports UNB.
“Fauzal Azim had been making derogatory comments about Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Facebook and other social media since 2012,” the BCL leader alleged.
“My feelings were deeply hurt after reading those derogatory comments,” he said.
According to Asif Talukder, such comments are a threat to the country and legal action should be taken against Fauzal Azim under the ICT Act.
