DMP files 4,256 cases on Sunday for traffic rule violations

The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in its regular drive against traffic rule violations filed a total of 4,256 cases against different modes of vehicles in Dhaka on Sunday.

The DMP also realised over Tk 3.422 million (Tk 34.22 lakh) in fines from the traffic offenders, according to DMP data.

Of the total cases, 382 were filed for driving on wrong sides, 83 for using hydraulic horn, 11 for using hooter and beacon light, and 22 others for using tinted glass in vehicles.

The department lodged 1,371 cases against motorcycle riders and seized 95 bikes over traffic rule violations.

Apart from this, the traffic policemen also dumped 34 vehicles and wrecked 773 others.
