Two eateries get fines in city

Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) and Armed Police Battalion (APBn) on Tuesday conducted anti-adulteration drives in the city's Kalabagan and Mirpur areas and fined two eateries, including a Chinese restaurant, Tk 1.1 million.

BFSA Executive Magistrate Tushar Ahmed along with ASP Mohammad Nur Islam, operations officer of APBn-5, conducted the drives.

The magistrate fined Tk 500,000 to Anik Ghose, manager of 'Bikrampur Mistanya Bhander' at Kalabagan, on charge of selling food after producing those in an unhygienic, unhealthy and dirty environment, said Nur Islam.

In another drive, the magistrate fined Tk 600,000 to Md Rafiqul Islam, manager of Chinese restaurant 'Midnight Sun-2' at Mirpur, for the same offence, he said.
