RAB rescues kidnapped boy in Dhaka

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) rescued a minor boy from the clutches of kidnappers on Saturday from Bimanbandar Railway Station area in Dhaka.

The elite force also arrested a madrasha teacher in this connection.

The arrestee, Hafez Mainul Islam (24), is a teacher of Sayeedatul Abrar Madrasha of Sunapur in Noakhali district. He joined the Madrasa one month ago.

Eight-year-old boy Md Samir was kidnapped from in front of house no-331/C Madhubagh in the capital around 4:00 pm on Thursday, reports UNB.

Operation Officer of the Rab-3 ASM Shakhawat Hossain said the kidnappers were demanding Tk 50,000 as ransom over mobile phone.

Victim's father Kawsar Ahmed registered a complaint with the RAB-3 battalion headquarters on the same day.

Based on secret information, an operational team of RAB-3 conducted a drive in Airport Railway station area and arrested Hafez Mainul and then rescued Samir on Friday, the RAB-3 operation officer said.
