RAB arrests two with 50 wild birds in Jashore

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members arrested two people from a bus along with 50 wild birds at Kotwali Police Station area in Jashore district on Sunday night.

The arrestees are Ariful Islam, 25, son of Golzar Hossain of Sharsha upazila and MdShaheen, 44, of Avaynagar upazila of the district, reports UNB.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB under Jashore Camp Commander M Mahmudur Rahman arrested Ariful and Shaheen from a Benapole-bound bus of Eagle Paribahan around 3pm along with 50 birds kept in a cage, said a press release of RAB-6.

A case was filed against the duo under the Wildlife (Conservation and Security) Act, 2012 with Kowtali Police Station, it said.
