One to die, two get life term for murder in Kushtia 

A court on Monday sentenced a man to death and two others to life term imprisonment in a case filed in connection with the murder of a BCL leader in Kushtia Sadar upazila in 2015.

The condemned convict is Tutul Hossain, 25, son of late Kashem Ali while the lifers are Ashraful Islam, 30, son of Abdul Hamid and Mosharaf Hossain, 30, son of Muntaz Pramanik, residents of Mollateghoria village.

The court also fined Tutul Tk 20,000 while the two others, Tk 10,000 each.

According to the prosecution, the convicted youths called Pias, a second year student of Accounting Department and former vice-president of defunct committee of BCL of Kushtia Government College, from his house and shot him dead over an internal conflict among them.

Later, the victim’s father, Abul Kalam Azad, filed a case with Sadar Police Station, UNB reported.

After examining all the records and witnesses, Kushtia district and sessions judge Arup Kumar Goswami handed down the verdict.
