Three die in Savar road crash

At least three people have died as a truck collided head-on with a human hauler in Savar on Tuesday morning.

UNB reports, 15 others were also injured in the accident that took place at Ashulia-Mirpur Beribadh area of Savar.

Two people among the deceased were identified as Shahidul Alam Sikdar, 64, former officer of Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board and resident of Kumkurari in Ashulia and Tawhid Mridha, 8, grandson of Dulal Mirdha of the same area.

Officer-in-charge of Ashulia Police Station Abdul Awal said Ananda Super, a bus of local Annesha Garment hit a human hauler killing three people on the spot and injuring 15 others.

The injured were admitted to the local hospitals, he said.

Locals demonstrated blocking the road on Kumkumari area demanding restriction on the movement of human haulers on the road.

Meanwhile, the OC said that they were taking steps to curb the movement of human hauler on the road to avoid accidents.
