RAB detains five ‘Rohingya robbers’ in Ukhiya

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members arrested five alleged 'Rohingya robbers' along with seven sharp weapons from Ukhia upazila of Cox's Bazar on Monday night.

The arrestees were identified as Md Karim, 46; Md Amin, 26; Md Shaker, 20; Md Rashid, 21; and Md Nur Islam, 26.

A team of RAB-7 conducted a drive at Modhuchhara area of the upazila around 9:05pm after getting information of their preparation for committing robbery.

According to UNB, the law enforcers arrested them along with seven sharp weapons, said a press release of the elite force.

In primary interrogation, the arrestees confess to the elite force that they had been involved with robbery at the area and snatched money and valuables from the locals, the release added.

Later, the arrested were handed over to Ukhia Police Station.
