KWASA to launch bottled water plant in July

Khulna Water and Sewerage Authority (KWASA) is all set to launch their Bottled Water Treatment Plant (BWTP) in July next.

KWASA sources said 80 per cent work on the plant being built in Khulna’s Mujgunni area, has already been completed.

With a view to supplying safe drinking water to the city dwellers, the KWASA took the initiative of setting up the plant on a 14-acre plot in 2016, allotting Taka 200 million for the project, says a BSS report.

The sources said the plant will produce over 6 thousand litters of safe water everyday and earn huge revenue.

Project manager of BWTP and also superintendent engineer of Khulna WASA, Khan Selim Ahmed said the bottled water produced by the plant will be sold at a price cheaper than private companies.
