Discussion on curbing road accidents in Narail

The district administration and the BRTA jointly held a rally on “National Safe Road Day” in Narail on Sunday.

Traffic rules need to be followed in order to reach destinations safe and sound, said speakers at a discussion in Narail on Sunday.

They also emphasised on the importance of providing training to drivers of public transportation.

The views were expressed at a dissuasion titled “Reducing road accident to create public awareness for save movement”, held at Narail Deputy Commissioner’s conference room. 

Narail District Administration and Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) jointly organised the discussion to observe ‘Jatiya Nirapod Sarak Chai day’.

Additional Deputy Magistrate (ADM) Mohammad Yarul Islam presided over the discussion while deputy commissioner of Narail Md Emdadul Haque Chaudhury was present as chief guest, said a press release.

Civil Surgeon of Narail Dr Asaduzzaman Munshi Toni, Executive Engineer of Roads & Highway Department Abu Hena Mostofa Kamal, Additional Police Super (ASP) Mehedi Hasan, Narail sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Salma Selim, Press Club president Advocate Alomgir Siddique and District Bus-minibus Paribahan Sramik Union’s Secretary Sadek Ahmed Khan, among others spoke.

Before the discussion a rally to create awareness of road safety paraded the main streets of the town to observe the day.
