Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in separate drives rescued 15 people, including six males, six females and three children from Shadipur and Gathipara bordering areas at Benapole on Tuesday while they were being trafficked to India.

One Indian national was also nabbed during another drive for intrusion into Bangladesh territory without valid documents, said Lt Col Ariful Haque, commanding officer of BGB-49.

The arrestees were handed over to Benapole Port Police Station later and a case was filed in this connection, according to a local news agency.
