55,000 farmers get agri-incentive in Jamalpur

The Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) disbursed agri-incentives among 55,000 small and marginal farmers on Boro cultivation in Jamalpur for the current Robi season.

According to the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) office sources, out of the farmers, each of 27,000 got 5 kg HYV seed, 10 kg Di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) fertiliser and 10 kg Muriate of potash (MOP) fertiliser for cultivation of one Bigha of land, BSS reported.

Besides, rest each of the 28,000 farmers got two-kg high breed SL-8H variety Boro seed for cultivating one Bigha of land.

The incentive was disbursed among 13,000 farmers in Jamalpur Sadar upazila, 7,800 farmers in Sarishabari, 8,500 farmers in Melandah ,4,900 farmers in Dewanganj, 7,000 farmers in Islampur , 8,000 farmers in  Madarganj and 5,800 farmers in Bakshiganj upazila.

Deputy Director, DAE, Zakia Sultana said the incentive programme was taken to encourage farmers for increasing food production.
