According to the project outlay, the CDA will build 167 residential and 18 commercial plots on Lope Road in the city's Bayazid Bostami area.

Sources said, besides the new one, the CDA has been implementing a dozen other housing projects including Agrabad, Nasirabad, Silimpur, Kolpolok and Anonya which, once completed, may meet the demand for housing of the people who have already to come to the city and want to stay permanently here by purchasing a plot, or those wanting to come to the city of 6.0 million (60 lakh) inhabitants and settle by buying a flat here.

Officials said, the CDA has already allocated a total of 6,660 plots in the 12 housing projects being implemented in those areas.

As part of plans and efforts of Mr Zahirul Alam, CDA has embarked on the new project, titled 'Baizid Housing Project' on a 20-acre land in Bayazid Bostami area.

CDA officials said actually, the Bayazid Housing Project will be set up on 19.65 acres of land and work on selection and developing the land has already been completed.

The CDA has already sent the DPP of Bayazid Housing Project to the concerned ministry for approval.
