At least 63 women were tortured to death for dowry alone in the first eight months of the calendar year, according to a local legal aid and rights body.
The Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) report noted that apart from this, 41 were physically tortured in the country from January to August 2019.
60 cases were filed in connection with the incidents, the data also revealed.
Moreover, 85 women were tortured to death, 80 were physically tormented and 108 cases were lodged in connection to such incidents in 2018 across the country, it added.
