An amount of Tk 256.16 billion has been proposed for Public Security Division and Security Services Division under the Home Ministry in the proposed annual budget for FY20 2.
The proposed amount is Tk 8.86 billion more than that of the previous year, as per a report on UNB.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal made the announcement during the budget speech in parliament on Thursday afternoon.
Of the proposed amount, Tk 219.22 billion has been allocated for the Public Security Division while the remaining Tk 36.94 billion for the Security Services division.
Moreover, an amount of Tk 321.01 billion has been proposed for the Defence Ministry and other services under the ministry.
The proposed allocation is Tk 14 billion higher than that of the previous fiscal.
Of the proposed amount, Tk 292.85 billion has been kept aside for operating expenditure, Tk 1.48 billion for the development expenditure of the Defence Ministry, while Tk 12.98 billion for other services and Tk 380 million for the Armed Forces Division.
