NBR plans to adopt trader-friendly fiscal policy: Chairman

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) plans to adopt a trader-friendly fiscal policy in the upcoming budget so that the businesspeople can submit revenues in a proper way.

NBR Chairman Md Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan made the remarks after paying tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at his graveyard in Tungipara of Gopalganj on Saturday.

"Our officers are working to this end. We will talk to the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister," he said.

The NBR is trying to spread the spirit of patriotism among the countrymen to boost the revenue collection, NBR chief said.

According to UNB, the newly appointed NBR chief placed a wreath at the graveyard of Bangabandhu and offered Fateha there seeking salvation of his departed soul.

On Jan 3 last, the government appointed former senior secretary Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan as the NBR chairman and Senior Secretary of the Internal Resources Division for the next two years ona contractual basis.
